When you’re selecting which Nioxin system to use, it’s important to take your hair needs into account.
Each 3-part system kit is designed to target different thinning hair needs. They’re created to address two main factors:
- Hair type: natural/non-coloured, coloured or chemically treated (bleached, permed, chemically straightened)
- Thinning progression
System Kit 1 is designed for natural, non-coloured hair with light thinning. It is formulated to amplify texture and protect the hair against breakage. It also refreshes the scalp and delivers thicker, fuller hair.
System Kit 2 is formulated for natural, non-coloured hair with progressed thinning. It delivers thicker, fuller hair, while protecting every hair strand against damage. Contains UV protection ingredients.
System Kit 3 is designed for coloured or chemically-treated hair with light thinning. It is formulated to remove follicle-clogging sebum, fatty acids and environmental residue while amplifying hair texture, providing moisture balance and protecting your color.
System Kit 4 is formulated for coloured or chemically-treated hair with progressed thinning. It delivers thicker, fuller hair by removing follicle-clogging sebum, fatty acids and environmental residue, while providing moisture balance and color protection.
There are many theories about what causes hair to thin. An accepted view is that DHT (dihydrotestosterone) activates the androgen receptors on hair follicles. When these receptors are activated, the follicle hairs grow more slowly and are much thinner. It is believed that over time the hair follicle will ultimately stop producing hair completely. Consequently, it is natural to want to block or inhibit the production of DHT to help prevent, stop, or reduce hair thinning.
While it is believed that oral supplements, vitamins or medications can help manage the negative impacts of DHT on hair, the reality is that there are no guaranteed effects provided by any DHT blockers. It is also important to understand that DHT is found in the bloodstream. Most topical hair or scalp care products (like shampoo or conditioner) and treatments work on the surface to clean or condition. Scientifically, it is very difficult to prove that such topical hair care products are capable of reaching the bloodstream to block or inhibit the production of DHT.

The Scalp Revitalizer is your conditioner, which you should apply to the entire scalp and hair and leave on for 1-3 minutes before rinsing.
The scalp treatment is your leave-in, to be used on towel-dried hair and applied directly onto your scalp. Do not rinse off.

Shipping/Returns
It typically takes 3-7 business days to receive your order after placing it.

Shipping is free for orders $75 or over. A $10 shipping fee applies to orders under $75.
We only ship to the 10 provinces within Canada.
Your order will then be shipped via UPS.
As soon as your order is shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email from us complete with a tracking number so you can follow the shipment.
If your tracking ID says that your order has been lost or delivered, but you do not have it, then please contact us so we can launch an investigation with UPS.
Please note: Once we pass your order to UPS, your package is with a different provider. We completely understand delays are frustrating, however once your order is with the courier, any issues need to be investigated by UPS. We are able to contact them on your behalf to resolve any issues. Please be assured, we will always do our best to get the issue sorted as quickly as possible for you.
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after your order is shipped to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return, please visit our Return Center. We’ll provide instructions on how and where to send your package.
Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Once your return arrives at our warehouse, we need to inspect it to ensure the product is in new condition and original packaging. After inspection is when we will initiate the appropriate refund.
If the product is not new condition and in original packaging, we will still accept the return and you will receive your refund, however we may deduct a 20% restocking fee from the refund amount.
All returns will be covered with a free return shipping label that we will provide to your in our Return Center.
Hair thinning
NIOXIN has developed a clear definition of thinning hair based on scientific, stylistic and consumer insights: Thinning hair = a poor scalp environment + fewer hair strands + finer hair strands. This definition has informed the creation of real, science-based solutions.
Chemical processes such as colouring, relaxing or straightening hair can cause structural damage to the hair shaft. This damage can increase the occurrence of hair breakage mid-shaft, reducing the number of complete strands on the head and making hair appear more thin.
